A BUG'S Life

We want to wish everyone a Happy Halloween and happy trick or treating.
Bugs bugs bugs who likes bugs. I do I do I do. James is always so kind to humor me for the costumes and this year was no different. I'm sure he just thinks I am crazy as does my mom but I thought our theme was cute. It all started with my little lady bug. I know it seems crazy to have had a costume for Hartleigh but I just couldn't resist my little bug. We went to our ward's Trunk or Treat and everyone loved our costumes. If we all were together it made sense but you see James likes to wonder so James kinda ruined it to get the true effect of the theme. We had a fun but pretty low key Halloween this year considering we didn't decorate, have our usual Halloween party or even carve pumpkins. Life has certainly changed around here with a 15 year old and a newborn but I wouldn't change it for anything.

Some Pictures

Random Pictures
Her hair is curly right after her bath but then it dries straight as a board

This was a shot I took of my grandpa holding Hartleigh. I love it!

When my mom came to visit a couple of weeks ago she managed to put Miss H to sleep in the weirdest spots and positions (so cute)

I just loved how cute and peaceful she looked in this picture

Brace Face

Cheyanna recently got braces a few weeks ago and I promised her I would post pictures (not that she wanted me to) but here you go anyway. She has been doing really well with them, the first few days were a little rough but she has been taking it like a champ. She actually looks really good with them, natural.

Would you do it again?

WOULD YOU DO IT AGAIN??

I have gotten this question alot since I had Hartleigh and the answer is always the same in a heartbeat. I don't know if people are testing you or checking to see if you are the biggest whimp or what. No matter when that question has been asked I will always and forever say in a heartbeat.

The funny part about this question was the first person that asked me, it was James (maybe he was testing me I hope I passed) and only a few hours after delivery just after my epidural wore off. Some people might say it was the drugs talking but I know for a fact that it was my heart speaking knowing with out a doubt I would do anything for our children to come to us. When you look in their eyes knowing how much you love them and they love you how can you not do it again to bring another sweet spirit into this world to snuggle and love. Everyday I am still amazed that we had something to do with Hartleigh being here but also how amazing she is. So would I do it again? In a HEARTBEAT!

Especially for this face

One Month

Where does the time go, I can't believe our little miss HarHar is already one month old. It seems like yesterday I was pregnant. It has been so amazing to take care of her, watch her grow, love her and to be her parents (what an amazing gift and blessing). I know I just posted something about her but even in just a week she has changed.
She is more alert then last week (awake more)
She finally will hold onto James' pinkie and won't let go
She is starting to make little cooing noises
She is eating more
She smiles more and more every day
She stares at you with her beautiful blue eyes with such trust
She will kick her way up James' chest to over his shoulder (when laying down)
Her cheeks are getting chunkier
She now weighs 8 lbs
She still doesn't like her bassinet
Gave herself a little hickey on her arm the other day (during tummy time)
She follows light when you move it in front of her
She smiles every time after you feed her

Many Faces

Hartleigh makes many faces when the camera is brought out I don't think she likes to have her picture taken much but I can't help but take pictures of our cute little girl. They make me laugh every time I see these pictures. Her faces seem like she is thinking very hard about alot of things only to know what it is she is thinking.

3 weeks

Our little Miss Hartleigh is now 3 weeks old and I can't believe it. The time has gone by so fast that I wish I could just freeze time (not permanently but for some moments). We have enjoyed having her in our family so much. It seems like she has been here forever and fits perfectly. She has been a big adjustment but a very welcomed one at that. A few things we have learned over the last 3 weeks
You can function on no sleep (barely)
We love her little cry and even changing diapers
Hartleigh has her parents wrapped around her little finger
Hartleigh loves to lay on your chest to sleep
She only likes one binky
She took a bottle for the first time last Friday (we went on a date)
She is a very smiley baby
She is a very alert baby
She makes noise in her sleep
She has increased the love in our home 10 fold
She doesn't like to be swaddled any more
Her hair is getting lighter (sad)
Her birth mark is getting lighter too
She now weighs 7 lbs 13 oz
She is a kicker (just like when she was in my tummy)
We love her with all we have to give
She loves her baths
She loves her car seat and car rides
She crosses her arms together when she sleeps
She takes a while to wake up
She is already trying to hold her head
She gets the hiccups at least 5 times a day
Time goes way to fast
